Summer 2027 grand opening set for The Midline Club

Swimming, socializing, exercising and more will soon be part of the Midline lifestyle, now that our signature amenity is under construction and headed for a Summer ’27 grand opening.

With mid-century architecture inspired by nearby NASA, The Midline Club is located at Midline’s main entrance off of FM 528 (West NASA Parkway), across from the Midline Welcome Center and Model Home Row.

Visible from FM 528, the two-story main building will have striking curved rooflines with sculptural canopy overhangs, large expanses of glass, and a welcoming exterior staircase.

The design draws inspiration from nearby mid-century landmarks such as NASA’s Johnson Space Center, circa 1963, and the natural beauty of the surrounding coastal prairie.

“The Midline Club is making a unique interpretation of mid-century style for today, with clean modern lines and an openness to nature,” said Felipe Luna, an associate with Studio Red, the Houston-based architecture firm that designed the building.

The clubhouse building will have five major interior spaces, including a welcoming lobby, a living room designed for informal gathering and remote work, a community hall for resident events, office space for Midline’s HOA and Community Life Team, and a second-floor fitness center.

Residents visiting the building will feel surrounded by nature and activity, said Elizabeth Gilbert, managing principal of Clark Condon Landscape Architecture, which designed the 3.8-acre site for The Midline Club.

“There’s really no back door to the building,” she said. “It will engage with the other amenities, such as the pool and playgrounds, from all sides, with the windows and canopies connecting it to the outdoors.”

Up to 14 feet deep, the canopies will create covered outdoor gathering areas that flow into open spaces around the site. They will also help keep direct sunlight out of indoor spaces.

Next to the patio area, an open-air firepit will be surrounded by chairs, with festoon lighting hanging among mature Bald Cypress trees. These trees will be among the many large specimens that will be planted at The Midline Club, providing instant shade and helping to create an established presence.

An event lawn with space for special events and outdoor fitness classes will be located next to the main building.

Landscaped sidewalks will lead to other amenities, including a resort-style swimming pool with partially submerged lounging chairs and deeper swimming areas beyond. A children’s area with water play features will be adjacent to the main pool.

To be open for year-round swimming, the pool will be surrounded by ample deck space, offering both shaded and sunny lounge areas. The poolhouse, offering a minimalist interpretation of mid-century style, will have restrooms and changing rooms.

“We wanted to provide plenty of shade at the pool, to make it a destination where families can stay for hours, with kids enjoying the splash pad play area and adults relaxing in the quieter zone,” Gilbert said.

The Midline Club will have plenty of attractions for the community’s youngest residents, with playgrounds designed to foster feelings of discovery and immersion in kids.

Playground areas will have raised berms where kids can climb across bridges and run under tunnels. There will be play features such as tower slides and swings, and a hill with an interactive water play feature. A pavilion will a provide shady picnic spot.

The Midline Club will have parking, and residents can walk or bike over via The Line, the centerpiece of Midline’s planned 14-mile trail system.

As exciting as it is, The Midline Club is just part of the lifestyle awaiting at Midline, where our vision includes a total of 12 neighborhood and community parks, and year-round events created by our Community Life Team.
