Meet Midline’s first homeowners, Mindy Tran and Trinh La

Mindy Tran and Trinh La didn’t set out to become the first homeowners in Midline, but after they discovered the community while out on a weekend grocery run, they put their dream of owning their first new home on a fast track.

After getting married this spring, the next life goal for Mindy and Trinh was to find a new home in the Clear Lake/Bay Area, near their large network of family and friends. Both had grown up in the area and had known each other since they were teenagers.

They were in no hurry to do that, until they drove into Midline and walked through the Rutgers, a Brookfield Residential home that was under construction and available for sale.

“We looked at each other and said, ‘do we want to make this happen?’ We both got very excited,” Mindy recalls. “As soon as we walked into the house, we fell in love with it.”

“As first-time homebuyers, we didn’t know what to expect, but Brookfield made the whole process very easy,” Trinh adds.

A two-story plan with four bedrooms, the Rutgers checked all the boxes for Mindy and Trinh. They liked the double-height ceilings in the kitchen and great room area, and the way this large living area opened to the covered patio.

They also appreciated the downstairs primary suite, with a huge walk-in closet that opens to utility room and mud room, creating a convenient laundry loop. Other highlights include a study with French doors and upstairs loft.

Midline’s location was another huge plus for Mindy and Trinh, whose priority was staying close to their family and friends.

“We’re close to everyone and everything, with Baybrook Mall and Costco right next to Midline,” Mindy says.

Mindy, a registered nurse who works in Pearland, says Midline gives her an easy commute. Trinh, an aviation mechanic who works at Bush Intercontinental Airport, has a longer drive, but he says the benefits of living so close to both of their families is worth it.

“We can already see how Midline is going to be a safe and beautiful community,” he says. “We are very honored to be the first residents.”

Mindy and Trinh plan to move into their new home in early summer, and it won’t be long before they have neighbors.

More than 100 new homes have already been sold since Midline opened for sales, and the Midline Welcome Center and fully furnished model homes from Brookfield, Highland, Perry and Toll Brothers draw many visitors each week.

Ultimately, Midline will be home to about 2,800 families living in our 1,000-acre community, enjoying amenities such as The Midline Club, now under construction and opening in mid 2027. The Line, our 14-mile trail, will connect every home in Midline to neighborhood parks and playgrounds. A full calendar of community events and activities will add to Midline’s warm and connected vibe.
